How to bulk-update and manage schedules

Available for the following EmploymentOS plans: Standard, Premium, Platinum, Unlimited
Available for the following user access levels: Users with schedule manager permissions, Admin 

Spend less time on logistics and more time on your business. Our latest update enables you to bulk-edit and instantly reassign unpublished shifts. 

Whether you’re updating work sites or adjusting start times, you can now manage your entire schedule with just a few clicks.

Bulk-update actions in schedule management

Bulk-update draft shifts
  1. Go to Time > Schedule Management. 
  2. Click on the Actions button. 
  3. Click on the Bulk Update option.
  4. Select the draft shifts you want to update (at this stage, the bulk update tool will only update draft shifts).
  5. Click on Update X Shifts in the top left-hand side of the screen.
  6. Choose from the following to update your shift:
    • Start time
    • End time
    • Breaks - add a break or remove a break
    • Work site
    • Position
    • Employee.
  7. Click on Preview. 
  8. In the bulk update shifts confirmation screen, ensure that your shifts are now correct, then click on Save.

Helpful Hint

If any shifts clash with the schedule rules that you have set, you will see a warning with the text "X shift/s could not be updated" with an explanation of the schedule rules the bulk update has violated.

Bulk-update copy shifts
  1. Go to Time > Schedule Management. 
  2. Click on the Actions button. 
  3. Click on the shifts you want to bulk-copy.
  4. In the top left-hand side of the screen, click on Copy X shifts.
  5. Your selected shifts have been copied.  
Bulk-update publish shifts
  1. Go to Time > Schedule Management. 
  2. Click on the Actions button. 
  3. Click on the shifts you want to bulk-publish. 
  4. In the top left-hand side of the screen, click on Publish X shifts.
  5. Your selected shifts have been published.  
Bulk-update delete shifts
  1. Go to Time > Schedule Management. 
  2. Click on the Actions button. 
  3. Click on the shifts you want to bulk-delete.
  4. In the top left-hand side of the screen, click on Delete X shifts.
  5. Your selected shifts have been deleted.
