You've been invited to complete an AI-led interview — congratulations! This guide walks you through every step of the process, from the invitation email to submitting your interview.
Before you start: Find a quiet, well-lit space with a stable internet connection. Use a modern browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
Your invitation email confirms you have been shortlisted for a video interview. The email includes:
- Deadline: The date and time you must complete the interview by.
- Role and company: Confirmation of the position you applied for.
- What to expect: Details on speaking with an AI Interviewer.
Important
Your interview link will expire. Complete the interview before the deadline to ensure your application progresses.
When you are ready, click Start Interview Setup in the email.
The Device Setup page ensures your hardware is working correctly before you begin.
- Grant browser permissions: Click Allow when your browser asks to use your camera and microphone.
- Select your devices: Choose your preferred camera and mic from the dropdown menus.
- Check your video: Ensure you are well-lit and centred in the frame.
- Test your microphone: Speak normally; the volume bar should move as you talk.
- Confirmation: Once verified, click Continue to Waiting Room.

In the waiting room, your video appears in the centre, with the AI Interviewer panel on the right.
- AI Interviewer panel: Displays a live transcript of the conversation.
- Media controls: Adjust your mic or camera during the interview.
- Recording indicator: A red badge appears in the top-right when you are live.
Important
Recording begins immediately after you click Start Interview.
Click Start Interview when you are ready.
The AI will greet you and explain the process. It will ask if you’re ready to begin. Just speak your response aloud to move to the first question.
Good to know
You can ask the AI to "repeat the question" or "move on" at any time.
The AI asks questions one at a time. You can also read them in the transcript panel.
How the conversation works
- Respond naturally: Speak as you would in a real conversation.
- Follow-ups: The AI may ask you to elaborate on an answer. This is an opportunity to provide more detail.
- No rush: There is no countdown timer for individual questions.
Tips for success
- Speak clearly and at a natural pace.
- Look at the camera, not your own image.
- Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) for detailed examples.
- Don't worry about small mistakes, keep going!
After the questions, the AI may ask if you have questions about the role. It can answer basics like hours or employment type.
When finished, click the red End Call button. Your recording is saved and submitted automatically.
You will see an Interview Complete! screen. You can submit optional feedback or click Skip to finish.
