Connecting your Xero account to your payroll platform allows you to automate the flow of data, including your chart of accounts, employee details, and payroll journals. This ensures your financial records remain accurate without manual data entry.
Getting started
Connect your Xero integration
Follow these steps to link your Xero organization to the payroll platform:
- Go to Pay > Payroll > Payroll Integrations.
- Locate the Xero tile and click the + Add button.
- Click Connect to Xero in the pop-up modal.
- You will be redirected to Xero; log in if required and select the organization you wish to sync.
- Click Allow Access to return to the payroll platform.
- On the configuration screen, select your Business and choose whether to export data as a Journal.
- Click Save. A success message will appear once the connection is active.
Disconnect your Xero integration
If you need to remove the integration or switch to a different accounting provider, you can disconnect Xero at any time:
- Go to Pay > Payroll > Payroll Integrations.
- On the Xero tile, click the Disconnect (-) icon.
- Review the confirmation message, which notes that your current chart of accounts mapping will be removed.
- Click Disable to finalize the disconnection.
Export a payroll journal to Xero
After completing a pay run, you can export the journal data directly to Xero or download it as an Excel file:
- Ensure Xero is ENABLED and configured to export run data as a Journal in your integration settings.
- Navigate to Pay > Payroll > Run Payroll.
- Select a completed pay run from the list.
- Click the Export journal button at the top of the pay run summary.
- Select Download journal to generate an Excel file containing account codes, names, and credit/debit values.
- The platform will confirm the export was successful once the file is ready.
