In Canada, Hero Points are a digital currency used to recognize and reward your team for their hard work, milestones, and achievements. These points empower administrators to align rewards with company values and work anniversaries, while giving employees the flexibility to choose rewards that matter to them through the Perks Store.
1. Understanding Hero Points for Administrators
Administrators can use Hero Points as the foundation of their reward and recognition strategy.
- Milestones: You can choose to automatically send Hero Points to employees for work anniversaries and birthdays.
- Company Values: By setting up company values, you can assign an amount of Hero Points to be sent whenever an employee is formally recognized by their peers or managers.
- Purchasing Points: Administrators can purchase Hero Points packages to fund their recognition programs.
Conversion Rates (CAD): When purchasing packages for your Canadian organization, the approximate conversion is $1 CAD to 20 Hero Points (e.g., a $50 CAD purchase provides approximately 1000 Hero Points).
2. Using the Perks Store (Employees)
Employees can use the Perks Store to purchase digital gift cards at discounted prices using their accumulated points.
Before shopping, you can verify your available points in two ways:
- Web Platform: Navigate to Benefits & Perks > My Points.
- EH Work App: Tap the Money or Perks tab to see your balance at the top of the screen.
- Navigate to the Perks Store via the Benefits menu on the web or the Perks tab in the EH Work app.
- Browse Retailers: Select from available Canadian digital gift cards (e.g., Starbucks, Best Buy, Uber).
- Initiate Purchase: Click on the desired gift card and select Buy Now.
- Payment Allocation: Use the slider to determine how many Hero Points to apply toward the purchase.
- Splitting Payments: If you do not have enough points for the full amount, you can pay the remaining difference using a Visa or Mastercard debit/credit card.
- Finalize: Enter your details and click Complete Order.
Important
Earned Wage Access (EWA) can also be used toward store purchases if your organization utilizes EH Payroll.
3. Accessing Your Rewards
It is critical to note that Employment Hero does not email gift card details to you for security reasons.
- Navigate to the Benefits menu.
- Click the Order History submenu.
- Click the Detail button on your purchase.
- Click the downward-facing arrow to see the code and instructions for redemption.
Warning
Your gift card is active only if a balance is displayed (e.g., Balance $100). If the card has been fully used or has reached its expiry date, the balance will disappear and show "Used" or "Expired".
