How to add custom fields to your Mandated Sick Leave reason

This section ensures the Mandated Sick Leave type is configured to gather mandatory information, like notes or supporting documents, from employees during the request process.

  1. Log into Employment Hero.
  2. On the left-hand side menu, click Settings.
  3. Click Time Off Settings.
  4. On the Sick Leave row, click the three dots (...) on the right-hand side.
  5. Click the Edit button.
  6. On the Edit Sick Leave pop-up box, under the Require comments or documents on time off request submission? (Optional) section, tick the Notes required checkbox if you want to make a mandatory reason field for the sickness time off.
  7. Tick or leave the remaining checkboxes as required.
  8. Click the Save button.

Steps to Approve/Decline a Time Off Request

Managers and Admins use the Time Off Management screen to view, approve, or decline employee leave requests.

  1. Log into Employment Hero.
  2. On the main menu, select Time.
  3. On the submenu, select Time Off Management.
  4. On the Time Off Requests tab, locate the request you need to action. The Status column will show Pending.
  5. To action the request:
    • Review Clashes: Check the Clashes column to identify any scheduling conflicts.
    • Approve/Decline Individually: Click the Actions dropdown next to the request and select Approve or Decline.
    • Approve/Decline Multiple: Use the checkboxes on the left to select multiple requests, then click the Approve Selected or Decline Selected button at the top of the table.
