How to Add Your Company's Bank Account Information

This guide will walk you through the secure and instant process of connecting your company's bank account to our payroll system. 

To ensure a safe and efficient setup, Employment Hero securely authenticates your account through Flinks, a SOC 2-compliant Canadian company owned by National Bank. This one-time verification directly with your financial institution guarantees your payroll funds are always sent to the right place.

It's essential to ensure this information is accurate, as the funds will be withdrawn from this account. This information can only be edited before the first run of payroll through Employment Hero.


Getting started

How do I connect and verify my business bank account for payroll?

To connect your bank account, please follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings from the main menu, and then select Bank Information.
  2. Click the Verify Bank Account button to begin the secure verification process.
  3. A window will appear, connecting you to Flinks. You’re welcome to review the information tabs, then select Agree and Continue to proceed.
  4. Choose your company’s bank account from the provided list. If it’s not immediately visible, use the search bar to locate it—there are over 100 banks available for selection.
  5. Next, log in to your bank account by entering your username and password, then click Continue.
  6. Once logged in, a list of your available accounts will be displayed.

    Important: You must select a registered business bank account. The system will prevent verification if a personal account is chosen.

  7. Click Continue to finalize the connection.

That's it! Once the verification is successful, your bank details will be automatically saved to your profile. For security, these fields will be locked from further editing.

Troubleshooting Tips

What if my bank is not listed for automatic verification?

If you cannot find your financial institution in the list during the automatic verification process, or if you encounter an error, we can help you set up your account through a manual process.

Here’s what to do if you are unable to connect your bank account automatically:

  1. Contact Our Support Team: Please reach out to our support team and inform them that you need to complete a manual bank account verification.
  2. Enter Your Details Manually: Our team will enable the manual entry fields in your account. Once this is done, you can return to Settings > Bank Information and type in your bank institution number, branch number, and account number.
  3. Submit Supporting Documentation: To complete the verification and ensure the security of your payroll, our team will ask you to provide a supporting document. This is typically a digital copy of a void cheque or a stamped direct deposit form from your bank.
  4. Final Confirmation: After our team reviews and approves your documentation, your bank account will be fully verified and ready for you to run payroll.
What if I need to upload documents to get verified?

If your bank isn't displayed, or you're having issues authenticating, you can still get verified by uploading documents. 

Here are your two options:

Option 1: Upload Bank Statements

  1. If you don't see your bank in the search results, click the Upload statements button.
  2. Upload 3 to 12 months of your recent bank statements. Ensure the files are in PDF, JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format and clearly show:
    • Account holder name
    • Bank name
    • Transaction history
    • Account number

Option 2: Upload a Void Cheque or Direct Deposit Form

You can also upload a void cheque or a direct deposit form. To ensure smooth processing, your document must:

  • Be in English.
  • Include your name, institution number, transit number, and account number.

You will be notified automatically when the result is ready. Most uploads are processed within 5–8 minutes. If there are any issues, our support team will be able to help.
