SmartMatch is an automated talent-matching engine that is fully integrated into your standard recruitment process. You no longer need to perform separate talent searches; as soon as you publish a job advertisement, SmartMatch automatically identifies work-ready, pre-screened candidates that match your criteria.

How to access SmartMatch candidates

Instead of creating a separate "SmartMatch role," the system uses the metadata from your active job postings to find matches.

  1. Click the Recruitment menu from the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Recruitment submenu.
  3. On the Jobs tab, click the Job Title of the live role you wish to source talent for.
  4. On the job dashboard, click the Source talent button located in the top menu.
  5. SmartMatch will display a list of candidates tailored to the role's Job Title, Location, and Workplace Type (On-site, Remote, or Hybrid).
Tips for better matching results

To ensure SmartMatch finds the highest quality candidates for your organization, follow these best practices during the job creation phase:

  • Optimize Job Title: Ensure you check the Optimize Job Title toggle when entering your initial job details to help the AI better understand the seniority and scope of the role.
  • Provide Detailed Metadata: Ensure you fill out the Job Type, Experience Level, and Industry fields, as these are critical criteria for the matching engine.
  • Set Clear Location Requirements: Accurate Canadian City/Suburb data and Workplace Type settings allow SmartMatch to filter for candidates within your required radius.

Will SmartMatch recommend my employees to other employers?

No. Your employees will only see jobs available within your organization through the Employment Hero Jobs app. We strictly exclude all active employees on the platform from being recommended to external organizations.

We rely on account emails to track users who should not be recommended for external roles. We encourage you to ensure that employees have their personal email addresses on file so they can be accurately excluded from SmartMatch results.
