How to add shifts and use a scheduling template

Available for the following plans: Standard, Premium, Platinum, Unlimited
Available for the following user access levels: Manager, Admin

The Schedule Management feature allows you to build, track, and finalize employee rosters. It integrates directly with the EH Work app, so employees receive instant notifications once their shifts are published.

Important: Access to these features depends on your Permissions Security Settings.

Shift management

Add a new shift
  1. Go to Time > Scheduling Management.
  2. Click a blank block on the calendar.
  3. In the Create a shift panel, enter the date, time, work site, and employee details.
  4. Click Save (draft) or Save and Publish (live).
Publish a shift

Note: Published shifts (blue) must be unpublished (grey) before they can be edited or deleted.

  1. Go to Time > Scheduling Management.
  2. Click Schedule > Actions > Publish Shift.
  3. Select the shifts you want to finalize.
  4. Click Publish Shifts, then Submit.
Save a Schedule as a template

Save your current view (Weekly or Bi-weekly) to reuse it later.

  1. Navigate to the specific week or period you want to save.
  2. Click Schedule > Actions > Save Template.
  3. Enter a Name and Description, then click Save.
Use a Schedule template
  1. Go to the time period where you want to apply a roster.
  2. Click Schedule > Actions > Load Templates.
  3. Select your template and click Load Template.

Helpful Hint: Templates load as unpublished shifts. You must still publish them to notify employees.

Add shifts in bulk
  1. Go to Time > Scheduling Management and click the plus (+) icon on a date.
  2. Switch to the Bulk shift tab.
  3. Set the number of shifts, times, and select multiple employees.
  4. Click Save.
Filter shifts by location (cost centre)

Note: "Work sites" refer to Cost Centres. See Manage cost centres to set these up.

  1. Go to Time > Scheduling Management.
  2. Use the Work site dropdown to filter the view by cost centre.
Copy-and-paste shifts
  1. Go to Time > Scheduling Management.
  2. Click the copy icon on an existing shift.
  3. Hover over a new time/date and click Paste 1 shift.
