Question
How do I enable the negative balance feature?
Answer
You can enable our Negative Time Off Balance feature via the Employment Settings page. The feature applies to all time off types and means that an employee can request time off that would put them into a negative balance. Disable this feature to prevent negative time off balances. This means that an employee cannot request time off that would put them into a negative balance. Employees will receive an error message when attempting to apply for time off that would result in a negative time off balance.
We calculate a negative time off balance based on submitted and approved time off. Should a manager or administrator allow an employee to have a negative time off balance, only they can submit the time off request for that employee.
Important
If your payroll admin enables the Hide an Employee's Time Off Balance feature within the payroll platform, then an employee can still submit a time off request even if they have a negative balance and you have enabled this feature.
