Creating survey templates

Available for the following plans: Employment Lite, Employment Plus, Employment Unlimited
Available for the following HR plans: Standard, Premium, Platinum
Available for the following User Access levels: Admin

Employee surveys are essential tools for assessing engagement and experience within your organization. The Survey Templates feature allows you to create custom templates from scratch for repeated use or choose from pre-existing master templates.

Note: You must create at least one custom survey before you can access the Templates tab; it will not appear in your menu if you have not used custom surveys previously.

Getting started

Customizing your own templates allows you to tailor questions to specific Canadian provincial requirements or internal cultural initiatives.

Create a survey template

Important

Creating your own survey templates is a feature exclusive to the Platinum plan.

  1. Navigate to the Engagement menu on the left-hand primary sidebar.
  2. Click the Custom Survey submenu.
  3. Click the Templates tab at the top of the page.
  4. Click the New Survey Template button.
  5. Complete the Template details:

    • Survey Title: Enter a clear name (e.g., "Q4 Engagement Survey - Toronto Hub").
    • Enter a Question: Type your first survey question.
    • Question Type: Select the response format (e.g., Multiple Choice, Free Text).

    Helpful Hint

    Click the Add Question button to include additional queries. There is no limit to the number of questions you can add.

  6. Click the Save button to add the template to your library.

Daily activities

Once templates are created, you can quickly deploy them across your Canadian workforce.

Use an existing survey template
  1. Go to Engagement > Custom Survey and select the Templates tab.
  2. Locate the desired template and click the Use Template button.
  3. Click the Next button.
  4. Configure Response Types: Select between Anonymous (Platinum only) or Non-anonymous.
  5. Set Sharing Options (Platinum Only): Choose to share with All employees, specific Groups, or specific Locations (e.g., Vancouver or Montreal).
  6. Schedule the Survey: Define the Start date/time and End date/time.
  7. Finalize:
    • Click Save a Draft to keep working later.
    • Click Publish to send the survey immediately to the selected users' dashboards.
Edit or Delete a template

To Edit:

  1. Navigate to Engagement > Custom Survey > Templates.
  2. Click directly on the template name.
  3. Click Edit Template, make changes, and click Save Changes.

To Delete:

  1. Navigate to Engagement > Custom Survey > Templates.
  2. Locate the template and click the Action button (downward arrow).
  3. Click Delete (trash can icon) and confirm.
