Employment Hero’s Benefits Management feature allows you to create, customize, and assign these benefits across your workforce. You can target specific employees by provincial location or eligibility and control the frequency of each offering.
Getting started
Follow these precise steps to set up a new benefit, such as a wellness allowance or local gym membership, for your Canadian team.
- Navigate to the Benefits Hub: On the left-hand primary sidebar, click the Benefits menu icon.
- Access Management: Select Benefits Management from the submenu.
- Initiate Creation: Click the + Create New button and select Create a Benefit.
- Set the Visuals: Click Choose from selection to pick a preset icon or Upload image to use your own company branding.
- Categorize for Clarity: Use the Benefit Category dropdown to group the item (e.g., Medical, Dental, or Vision).

Enter Details:
- Benefit Name: Enter a clear title (e.g., "Vancouver Wellness Stipend").
- Country: Type Canada.
- Description: Provide a summary of what the benefit includes.
- Frequency: Select how often the benefit is provided (e.g., One-time, Monthly, or Annually).

Optional Enhancements:
- Click + Add link to point to an external insurance provider portal.
- Click Browse files to attach provincial health forms or coverage PDFs.
- Enter instructions in the How to Redeem text box.
- Finalize Setup: Click the Save button.
Once a benefit is created, you must manually assign it to the relevant Canadian employees.
- On the management page for the new benefit, click the Add/Remove Employees button.
- Select Recipients: In the Available column, click the names of the relevant employees or use the double right arrow () to assign everyone.
- Click Next.

Define Monetary Values:
- Individually: Type the amount directly into the row for each person.
- In Bulk: Select the column checkbox, click Bulk update values, set the Start/End Date and Amount, and click Save.
- Click Save and then Done.
Daily activities
For Canadian employers offering comprehensive insurance packages, you can group multiple benefits under a single master policy.
- Go to Benefits Benefits Management.
- Click + Create New Create a Group Benefit Plan.
- Link Existing Benefits: Choose the benefits (e.g., Medical and Dental) that fall under this group plan.
- Set Policy Details: Enter the provider name and master policy numbers relevant to your Canadian carrier.
- Assign to Staff: Follow the assignment logic to enroll the correct teams.
- Edit: Find the item in Benefits Management and use the Actions (three dots) button to update details.
- Disable: Select Disable from the Actions menu to hide seasonal benefits while keeping historical data.
- Delete: Select Delete from the Actions menu to permanently remove an item.
