Hero Points are a digital currency used to reward and recognize your team. They empower administrators to acknowledge employees for performance, achievements, or behaviors that align with company values.

How Hero Points Work

1. Purchase: The organization buys point packages (converting CAD to Hero Points).
2. Reward: Admins send points manually (via Shoutouts) or automatically (for milestones like birthdays).
3. Redeem: Employees spend points on discounted gift cards in the Perks Store.

Administrators can manage the points program by navigating to: Benefits & Perks Hero Points Manage Hero Points.

From here, you can:

• Purchase Points: Buy point packages to fund your rewards.
• Automate Milestones: Set a specific amount of Hero Points to be sent automatically for work anniversaries and birthdays.
• Link to Values: Assign Hero Point values to company values so points are sent whenever an employee receives a formal Shoutout.

In the platform, the approximate conversion rate is: $1 CAD = 20 Hero Points (e.g., a $50 CAD purchase provides 1,000 Hero Points).

Transaction Fees

• Purchase Fee: A fee may apply when an administrator purchases point packages to cover platform and processing costs.
• Redemption Fee: When an employee redeems points for a gift card, a 0.5% service fee is already included in the gift card's discounted price. If paying a remaining balance with a credit card, a 1.1% transaction fee applies.

If a milestone reward (like a Birthday or Work Anniversary) fails due to an insufficient organization balance, the system will place that transaction in a queue. Once the administrator tops up the Hero Points balance, the system will automatically retry and send the pending rewards.

Employees can redeem their points via the web platform or the EH Work mobile app by navigating to Benefits & Perks Perks Store.

• Select a gift card from over 58 Canadian retailers (e.g., Tim Hortons, Indigo, Best Buy).
• Use the Hero Points slider at checkout to pay for the card in full or in part.
